I went to the outdoor cinema with a few friends tonight to see Frozen, a movie by Disney.

First day

It was my first day back to uni today so it was time to bring out the fresh notebooks and pens I had bought on my trip to HK.

I LOVE to buy stationary. And my favourite place is to buy it in Asai- it's cheap and there is so much more to choose from. My favourite store at the moment is a Japanese chain store called MUJI. It's a good thing there are none in Australia otherwise i'd be broke.

ice tea

I've been loving this tea lately but unfortunately my local supermarket has stopped stocking it. Not only is the tea delicious but the bottle is so pretty! And anything with nice packaging always wins me over.

I caught up with a friend for breakfast this morning and since the cafe over looked the ocean, how could we not go to the beach?! It was actually the first time I had been to the beach this summer. I'm not usually a beach goer, what with all the sand, salty water, sharks and jellyfish! But today was a warm day and the water was so clear. I'm definitely going to hit the beach more often next summer!

Lemon Drizzle cake

I made a lemon drizzle cake this afternoon. The recipe was taken from Tanya Burr, a beauty guru on Youtube (

I will post more photos and the recipe when I have time tomorrow

This is the last week I can have my nails painted until I go back to uni next Tuesday. This is the Sally Hansen complete salon manicure in colour 670 Pennies for Heaven. This is the first polish I have tried from the complete salon manicure line and I must say it is amazing. The application is flawless. Usually I have trouble applying with my left hand, but the wide brush makes it easier to control and applies a thin coat.

Game day

I spent some time today hanging out with my cousins and playing board games. I learnt a new game called Takenoko which included growing bamboo and feeding a cute, fat panda.

We also played Ticket to Ride, Saboteur and Bang.

Too much?

I caught up with a lot of friends today so it's no surprise that a lot of food was consumed. Here is a little taste :)

Hopefully this weekend will involve less food and more exercise!

Edible roses

So I found (well a friend took me) this little french glacier near where I live and they serve their ice cream in a beautiful rose shape. I"m definitely going to go back and try out their cakes and patisseries and practice a bit of french :)

I know it's another food post (and tomorrow will probably be one too) but this was what I made for dinner tonight- a creamy bacon carbonara with mushrooms and sugar snap peas.

Late breakfast

Two posts today because I completely forgot to post a photo last night.

I went for a late breakfast yesterday with some friends and had grilled peaches with pistachio brioche and creme fraiche with a strawberry and watermelon juice. The peaches were nice but there was too much candied pistachio for my liking.

Another post to come tonight :)

It was a beautiful day today- not too hot, not to cold and the sun was shining. The photo doesn't do it justice, actually makes it look like a storm was coming.

It's almost past midnight again but i'm here! (this shows how much of a night owl I am!)

This isn't from tonight but a feast a friends father cooked on wednesday night. We had snow crab and it tasted amazing!! Best crab I've ever had!

Pass me some ICED tea!!

I know it's almost midnight- but how could I miss my first day of photo posts!!

I really didn't do much today as it got to almost 44°C! When I wasn't at work, I was either napping or relaxing in the air conditioning at home. I did try this new tea. (well new to me)

Hopefully tomorrow I will have something more exciting but it is forecast to be 41°C so I don't know how successful I will be at leaving the house!

New year, new.....things to do

I know i'm a bit late to the party but after doing some thinking, i've decided to set myself some goals for the year. These are more of daily tasks which I want to make a habit. Of course I want to live healthier through eating better and being more active but I also want to do three things:
1. Read the Bible more
2. Drink a cup of milk a day (I need my calcium!)
3. Post a photo a day on this blog. I was in Kikki.K the other day and spotted a mint green 365 day journal. I've seen these before but this one really caught my eye and I was very tempted to buy it. However, i'm not big on journal writing and I can't exactly print nice photos every day and polaroid film just seems to expensive to use. So, i've decided i'm going to try and post a photo a day on this blog with a simple caption or story whether it is on my camera or just from my phone.

I'm still new to blogging so not quite sure if there is anyone out there reading these posts, but if there is, HI :) feel free to leave a comment with your goals of 2014 or ways you keep motivated during the year.
Look forward to a new photo tomorrow!!

Happy Holidays

Happy Christmas and 2014!!

Hope this post finds you healthy and happy as this new year begins.

It's been a crazy few weeks but here are some photos of what has been going on.

Blueberry, green tea and salted caramel macarons

Creme brulee

4 layer chocolate cake with chocolate mousse icing topped with maltesers

These last couple weeks have mainly consisted of food and this is only a sample of what I have consumed!

As I only have a few weeks left of holidays until I have to go back to uni, i'm looking forward to having a relaxing time hanging out with friends and family. I started this blog to document the random things I get up to, so i'm going to try and post more often- even if it is just a short one with a collection of photos!

See you soon
